About

KRITIQAL covers games as political instruments, artistic statements, and cultural objects. The site is maintained by Nathalie who created it in 2013 to write about small games in ways that were not being served by other publications. KRITIQAL also hosts the podcast Kritiqal Care, an interview show about games and the humans who make them, and Zero Context, covering the Zero Escape trilogy.

All inquiries can be sent to contact@kritiqal.com (read more about pitching to KRITIQAL here).

KRITIQAL is published under the Anti-Capitalist License. You are free to do what you want with it, provided you are not a cop or a corporation (go away).

Disclosures

Occasionally, we receive review copies of games from publishers and developers. In these situations there is never an obligation that KRITIQAL cover these games in exchange for the review copy.

In all cases where review copies were provided, this information will be disclosed at the bottom of articles, displayed prominently in videos, and included within podcast audio and shownotes. This includes games received via press services like those provided by itch.io, as well as any other form of free obtainment by way of the developer or publisher.

If you have any questions about these disclosures please reach out via email and I’ll be happy to discuss.
